There was some talk at Dayton that there may soon be a replacement for the Valor Pro-Am 160M whip. Any one heard anything lately?
We all understand this is not the
best 160M antenna - so please dont go in that direction.
Thanks in advance, Ken

Aside from the lack of efficiency (about point two percent), it isn't very sturdy; a fact supported by owner complaints.
As for Dayton, it wouldn't matter much what they do design wise, the basic structure would remain, and questionable at best.

My question is still unanswered.
Alan, I already understand all the things in your response as I have owned this antenna previously.
I am not going to use it for mobile use.
Myself and others have used this Valor 160 whip as a backyard , low profile, antenna restriction CCR, keep the wife happy, get on the air quick, non lightning attractive, ragchew with the local topband guys, antenna. Thanks.
Ken
