3/8-24 thread to UHF female adapter? Reply

Does anyone know of a source for a 3/8-24 thread to UHF female adapter? I have the Diamond MV3A (which has the PL259 male on the end)which I'd like to mount on the standard 3/8-24 ball mount.

Hello,

Go to your local CB radio shop and look for a stud mount made by Firestik. I can't tell you the part number right off hand, but if you disassemble the mount you will come up with just such an adapter. The mount is meant to take a 3/8-24 CB antenna and allow you to directly connect a PL-259 to it. No reason it can't work the other way!

Good suggestion. You may have to shortened up the tip a little. This antenna is rather lossy because of its length, so you may not notice any difference with respect to length.

Firestik is online . I think you'll find what you need at the bottom of this page ( http://www.alfenterprises.com/antenna_mounts.htm )
