I am interested in opinions/help on building/winding coils for all band mobile antennas using either 8 ft whip (or smaller) for 'stinger'. My lack of expertise is in winding the coil(s).. i.e., what to use for form, how many turns, what size wire, spacing, how long coil should be... I have scoured Internet looking for some answers, but all I find is VERY GENERAL... is there a program(s) on how to set up coil for various freqs/all bands... I realize the more bands covered will amount to trade-offs in efficiency, etc.. what I need is a mobile antenna ELMER.. H E L P... tks and 73 to all... Chuck

I have a construction plan for a mobile HF antenna that shows how to construct high efficiency, air-core inductor coils.
