TS-2000 Scan at Power-On

I have a used TS-2000 that I've just started playing with. It has the annoying tendency to scan as soon as I turn it on. There is no indication that it is in a scan mode, other than the steadily increasing frequency. The only way I've found to exit the scanning is to bump the band up and down. I've tried both resets, no luck with either. I don't see any menu items that would enable a start up scan, either.
Any suggestions?
Thanks and 73's
Dave, WB8LRL

Try a full reset.
Press the [A=B] button and hold it while pressing the power button to turn the radio on. You will see a confirmation message. Press [A=B] again. You will see "HELLO" on the display.
Note: This will set everything to the default state. It will clear the memories and all preset data.
If you want to do a partial reset, follow the same sequence but use the [A/B] button instead.

BTW: In my previous post I presumed you already tried pressing the [CLR] and/or [SCAN] buttons. If not, try that first.
It does seem odd, but the TS-2000 will continue to scan following a power cycle unless you explicitly tell it to stop.

Tried and failed with each. When I press the scan key, even the rate is unchangeable, although the legend appears and the P number changes.
I guess I'll call Kenwood and see what it takes to get it fixed at the factory unless anyone knows any better.
Thanks,
Dave
