Hi
This is VU2YK in New Delhi.
Last week I used my TS-450S and it was in perfect working condition. Amazing
receiver and get unsolicited comments about nice TX audio with stock mic. The
lightning fast relayless Rx/Tx switching is noiseless and any CW Ops delight.
Full 100 watts out on all HF bands.
Yesterday I switched on the rig, and shock and awe ! Output power reduced to 20
watts ! All else remains same. Low SWR, Power supply rock steady. ALC indicator
does not move, indicating some problem inside. I did not touch the rig in the
last few days.
The Key symptoms are :-
1. Output 20 W on 20 M , Less on other bands with a 13.8 V supply and 50 Ohm dummy Load. Same setup and my IC-706 Mk2G shows 100 W. Cleaned Fuseholders, Power Connector. Same results.
2. No ALC indication on the Bar Graph meter. Normally this would go beyond range and off scale with full CAR insertion. Does this mean some fault at the drive level ?
Will appreciate any help in diagnosing and rectifying the problem. Thanks !

Not sure if it's the same thing but several months ago I cured one that had suddenly dropped to 30 watts output overnight by a very careful factory alignment.
