Hello.

Excuse me for my language because I'm french.

I would like to know if the antenna tuner Kenwood AT-250 can to connect to other transceiver than Kenwood (in example : Icom or Yaesu or CB's tranceiver).

If it can, thanks for schematics or notes.

Thanks to all.

Maurice.

The AT250 will work with any radio that will give it RF power to tune with. The owners manual shows the hookup.

- connect the output of the radio to the input of the AT-250
- connect the antenna to the output of the AT-250
- set the bandswitch of the AT-250 to the desired band
- key the radio in a constant-carrier mode (am/fm/cw) and press the TUNE button on the AT-250
- when the AT-250 stops, your antenna is matched

What radio are you referring to and what frequencies are you wanting to use it on?

Lon - may need to add a step: Apply proper electric power to the AT-250.

Yup, that would be an important step. :)

Thanks for the reminder.

Hi!

Thanks for all for your answer.

I would like to connect the antenna tuner to a transceiver which have not a accessory pin.

How connect the REMOTE pin in this case ?

73's for all and 212's to your QRA.

Thank you very much.

Maurice.

<< I would like to connect the antenna tuner to a transceiver which have not a accessory pin. >>

You can't. That's why I gave you the instructions to set it up for manual band selection and tuning.

It will only work automatically with the Kenwood TS-430, that I know of. I'm not sure it will work automatically with any of the earlier Kenwood rigs. And probably not with anything newer since virtually all the ones that came later had built-in tuners.

<< How connect the REMOTE pin in this case ?>>

As I said in the previous paragraph, you can't. You will have to use in a manual band selection and manual tune mode.

And it's not a remote "pin". it's a 7-pin DIN connector and the cables are practically non-existent anymore. Even if it would work with your radio, you would have to either make the cable or have it made for you.

Again, what radio are you trying to use this with?

BTW,

<< 212's to your QRA. >>

I have no idea what this means. There's no "QRA" on any of my Q-signals lists and I have never heard of "212".

From the listing in the ARRL Log Book:

QRA -- What is the name of your station?

We used QRA once in a while in the Navy to ask an unknown CW station for identification. Much better known by civilian operators than military, though.

Correct response would be: QRA K7KBN (in my case).
