I looked through quite a few "pages" here in the QRP section and didn't see anything on the topic.
Crystals. Besides AF4K, is there anyone out there that carries bulk crystals?
I'm not talking about crystal mfg'ers.
I use to get them from Ocean State until their major problems.
I see Dan's Small Parts is going down for 90 days.
Any ideas?

Thanks Scott!
This website is familiar to me. I do recall how I couldn't believe his prices and maybe that's why I didn't pursue. Only $2.55???? Wow!!!!
So I called and left a message on his voice mail. I mentioned that my company was looking for a new crystal source for my little PW-2 QRP transmitters.
He must buy a ton of these in bulk to offer at just $2.55 each.
BTW, I mentioned in my voice mail that I was referred to him by a fellow ham on an eHam forum....

Scott:
Just an update....
The fella you recommended:

What a nice dude! Says he will ship while your check is on the way. Says he's been doing business like this for years and has never been screwed.
We must've chatted for an hour or more. Great fella.
With those crystal prices, I'm tempted to offer our PW-2 with free crystal for a Holiday Special. I'll talk with my webmaster and see what he thinks....
Thanks once again....

For really tough custom crystal frequencies I've used the following Epson programmable oscillator from Digikey:
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?lang=en&site=US&WT.z_homepage_link=hp_go_button&KeyWords=SG-8002DC-PHB+&x=0&y=0
Many experimenters are using these for Lowfer and Medfer transmitters and I used one for a 160M QRP beacon transmitter project.
Not bad for $5 and change, and you get the exact frequency you need. Very fast turnaround, they've shipped the same day I placed the orders.

We've bought from N4ESS a few times. Fast shipping, low cost, never a "dead one". If you want a more "authentic" look for older gear, gut an old
FT-243 and solder one of his crystals in the holder.

I just placed an order through N4ESS via his presence on eBay a few days ago. Barely caught my breath after ordering and the purchase was at my door being delivered. Very Happy with shipping speed. Hopefully I'll get some time later this week to install the crystal and see how it works.

Update:
Used the crystal I got received to build the Michigan Mighty Mite QRP transmitter for 40 meters. No problems and frequency is spot on. Planning on buying building the 30 meter version as well and of course will be picking up the crystals from the same source.
