Tonight I was tuning around the low end of 160 and I heard the following CW sequence: The letter "K" followed by a string of dits followed by about a second of steady carrier. As I tuned up the band I heard it again and the bandwidth was wide enough I heard it a third time higher up in frequency. I soon figured out that it was doing this same sequence at 1832 then 1834 and then 1836 etc., every two kHz right up to the top of 160 and continuing well beyond. On a few frequencies the dit string was much longer and it seemed like an amplifier was switching in and out because maybe no match could be found by the tuner. There was some QSB on the signal but for the most part it was well above the noise level. Anyone else run across this? Any idea what it might be?
