I don't have a problem with this yet...but..I am moving to a fairly remote area and the only internet access will be through a local wirelss network at 2.4ghz with a router in the house. Has anyone heard of problems with this type of system and intereference to amateur radio frequencies?

You won't have any problems from the 2.4GHZ RF but there is always the potential for RFI from the digital circuits or switch mode power supply just like any wired router. A lot depends on the design of the particular device and the location of your ham antennas.
