As I was reading the ARRL letter this evening, and got to wondering. I was reading about this Electric company and how they really don't care about interference to mobiles. I know that RFI in your Shack from power lines is suposed to be fixed by the Power company, so, must they also fix problems with RFI to mobiles? I have a 90 mile commute each day for work. I have 45 minutes to get on the HF rig and make some contacts. However, right in the middle of my drive there is 10 miles that has a S9+ powerline noise. So just about the time I get going, I am shot down by noise. Anybody know this?
Thanks and 73
Bill

Contact the power company, some like
Progress Energy are very helpful (they
even sent their techs to the ARRL class
for power companies early last year).
He got back and was able to nail a problem I'd had for months in a day. He had fixed everything
in a 10 mile radius of me, but did not find
the insulator across the street until
the class. Very quiet now.
Other companies require a letter from RH.
One in TX, had their lawyer write RH and
tell him a single ham did not a "service"
make. RH gave them 30 days to fix it or he would
shut down the grid. They fixed it very
quickly! :-)
