To the site moderators:

I recognize we all have our own issues and agendas to advance and this forum was designed to facilitate that exchange of ideas. I also recognize that people have a variety of gripes about various organizations and governmental entities and that these too should be heard. it is a normal mater of checks and balances that in an open society should exist.

In the case of W9WHE-II, however, I think this has gone on too long and far enough. How much more of his rants and unsupported allegations must the rest of us endure on this site? He alone can fill an entire thread with nothing but sniping and vitriol that totally undermines any kind of constructive growth for hams. He finds great joy in dderailing any kind of constructive discourse and turning it into some hate filled argument about his pet peeves. It is come to the point where people I know are discouraging new hams from exploring this site at all for fear of what kind of impression they may get.

While I am sure we all have our moments is there a method of more actively moderating people, even if that means everyone not just the flame throwers, so we can regain a modicum of composure and decorum here? I do not mind that he hates the ARRL. Great, all the more power to him. So do a lot of people here. But frankly its ridiculous to have to have every single thread polluted with his attitude.

I might add there are more than just he, but he is by far one of the worst. I am sure people responding to this could suggest many more and provide evidence. Just search your own site for his discussions and you will see for yourselves.

Any ideas on what might be done would be appreciated not only by myself but everyone on every thread he has scorched and has complained would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Ignore.....

That's what we started telling the hens in the hen house when the fax came along. Just ignore him.

For what ever reason we began loosing hens.

I think you get my point.

Be well!

Unfortunately although I feel for you and your disdain for that person, if E-ham would do anything about him they will need to do the same to all of the self made ""experts"" on this site who attack anyone who has ideas or does something they don't agree with. Same for all the ""Fan-boys"" of equipment like Alpha, Kennicomyeasowood and so on that can't seem to get the drift that people don't like the products and price gauging of some of those manufacturers..its called freedom of expression, it goes both ways, you have no obligation to read his posts. Just ignore them... I do the same about posts of some of the ""expert idiots" and fan-boys on here that do anything to upset others so they can be in the lime light...let them be, take pity on them..its all they have. They do not have any credibility, just ignore them...its better for you it keeps your blood pressure down and keeps you healthy.
Ignore the people you know are full of themselves, read the post of people that are sane and make sense, don't take the bait of trouble makers and lime light seekers, ignore them, don't answer them even if attacked directly, and you will do just fine.

Not sure what a "fan-boy" is, but what you say is so true. I guess you've noticed "mutual sycophancy" among some of these guys. It's like a club where they pat each other on the back to create credibility, "great post OM" or "good point, FB." The sad part is people actually buy into that. There are some guys who know very little about RF, as proven in their own writing, yet people worship these guys. I just don't get that.

You are right. It is easier said than done, at least for me, but you are right.

Those sorts of posts are like bugs on my windshield: unpleasant, serve no purpose and have no lasting impact.

Now I like that,,that is just too funny,,:)

I have never read a post by W9WHE that had enough technical content to even be close to a 'Mr.Know-it-all'. I doubt he has any technical ability. He just leaves shallow-minded little 'politico' droppings, like a mouse in the feed barrel. And like that mouse he soils more than he eats.

You have to be careful about ignoring him. Following him into a thread is like following a cow into the barn that you want to put in a stall. When you get in the hallway, and you hear that 'plop-plop' sound, you can ignore the sound, you can ignore the smell, but you had best not totally ignore it,else you might step in something.

Back in 2004 there was a thread on this same forum about W9WHE: http://www.eham.net/forums/SiteTalk/444

Five years later he's still here and people are still complaining about him. The inaction and silence of the Eham staff speaks loud and clear. Apparently they approve of his posts and don't seem to care if it angers people or makes them leave Eham.

Looks as if management intends to ignore W9WHE-II on into the future. He and his twin brother K1OU have hijacked, sidetracked, and basically shutdown several contributed articles along with several of the news articles in just the past week. Any attempts at an intelligent sharing of opinions or experiences seems to vaporize as soon as those two show up to start their childish bickering over mundane politics totally unrelated to the articles content. It is beginning to look as it the low-brow shallow-minded political boors like W9WHE-II and K1OU are taking over the site. Maybe management should change the name of the site to PoliticoHam and those of us who enjoy the the fellowship and technical aspects of Amateur Radio should just move on to greener pastures.

"love how all these anally retentive conservatives think that Obama should somehow be able to clean up in a matter of weeks or months a mess that it took Dubyah and his cronies eight years to create."

Here is what W4HIJ had to say in the comments string of one of the news articles. What was the name of the article? The articles title was "Solar Cycle 23 Sunspot Group Re-emerges". W4HIJ had joined his buddies the twin brothers K1OU and W9WHE-II there not to talk about sunspots and radio wave propagation, but the lowest most shallow-minded form of political spewing possible. The last two weeks has seen this activity by this group pick up substantially. This is not freedom of speech by any stretch.

<< This is not freedom of speech by any stretch.>>

I am SO happy the Supreme Court does not look to you for advice on what is or is not covered under the First Amendment.
