After spending 20-30 minutes researching and typing an answer for someone on Elmers, the buggy website here ate my answer. I'm not about to type it again and make it an hour project of donated time.
I know it is a thankless job to write firmware for something like this, but as good as Bill and others laid this stuff out ten years ago or so it really needs some updating.
First, if there are multiple page threads it is impossible to go to thread end and see what is happening without forwarding through it page by page or typing a page number change in the address box of IE. It would seem a simple task, but maybe not, to have a "last page" button. that would cure frustration of going through an 8 page thread.
Second, the buggy posting system is irritating. It irks me when it loses a post or does some other weird behavior because it closes the type window and opens a new one for review. If the review one screws up, you can't always back up to the compose window.
One would think someone could at least change the windows so the compose or reply window would stay up as a second page until the poster could see his post made it onto the thread. I know the user could copy everything himself and save it until the post appeared, but IMO it could be a heck of a lot more user friendly. It should be gradually improving over time, not staying the same.

Tom,
Thanks for your input. We are actively working on a replacement for the very dated forums software. We are getting very close to being able to open it up to all eham users.

Hey Tom,
We've been testing new forums software and it should be better on all fronts. It's a rather big job to integrate and switch over to it, and the switchover itself is no small part of the effort.
Anyway, I hope as much as anyone here to see it go live soon.

Do you plan to migrate all the stored posts and content to the new platform?
That's not a trivial project (as you know.)
Looking forward to the new set up.

Yes we will move all of the old posts to the new system.
We have most of the work done - we are doing testing at the moment to make sure we have found most of the bugs hiding out in the corners.

That all sounds great, thanks to the whole crew! It will be nice to be able so see posted links that are clickable,as well as going to the last posts of a long thread without wading through to whole thread every time. I always use a text editor to write a long post,so as not to loose it if there is a software burp. Thanks,KG4TKC
