Need help identifying antenna rotator

I recently bought a tower that came with an antenna rotator on it.
I could use some help identifying it (mfgr/model) to possibly get another control box and wire it up.
Pictures can be found here

It looks like there might have been a sticker on the bottom at one time - but not anymore.
Thanks for any assistance,
Chris

For certain, it's a CDE/Hy-Gain HAM-series rotator, and looks very old. Probably older than a HAM-IV (current model), more likely a HAM-M, HAM-II or HAM-III, all of which go back a long time.
Normally the model number is "stamped into" the very bottom of the rotator (not ink, but actually stamped into the metal, with a stamping tool so it will be there forever). Look carefully on the bottom (same surface as the 8-screw terminal strip) to see if you can find it.

According to Norm's Rotor page "5 638" would be a Ham M or Ham 2, made in the 38th week of 1976. All parts are still available. Norm's or Rotor-doc can help you there.

That is fantastic. More importantly you gave me a couple valuable resources - teach a man to fish and all that!

rotor looks like a CDE 44 also known as a tr-44
I once had one, it will turn a modestly size
3 element beam such as my old mosley ta33
CDE was Cornell-Doubler Electronics i think.
The ham 4 rotor looks similar to this rotor also.
if it has a 8 wire connector it may be the ham 4.
I think the tr 44 also has a 8 wire connection
but the bell housing and guts arent as heavy as
the ham 4 I dont have info but think mfj still
makes the ham 4 rotor and may be a way to backtrack
and get manual info for your rotor,

It's a HAM of some sort, the CDE-44 does not have a brake, the bell just ends it doesn't have that section that is the same circumference for about 2" before the mounting plate. I for one think the HAM M or II was a better rotor than the II and IV so if you've got one of those you've got a good one IMHO
