Anyone know other sources of Aluminum tubing for beam repair other than Texas Towers and Mcmaster Carr ? (Obviously other than the antenna manufacturers who are a rip off). I'm specifically looking for 1 1/8" .058 wall. Texas Towers is out of stock and Mcmaster Carr didn't seem to have the size I need. A 6 foot section is usually about $8 from Texas Towers and Mosley has the nerve to charge $31 for the same tubing !
Anyone know any other sources ?
Thanks - Tom, W2EQ

There is a place in western PA called Dillsburg Aerospace. I'm sorry I don't have the number handy, but I always get super-human customer service and the prices are FB.

Thanks Bill,
In case anyone else is wondering, I found a decent place called AirParts Inc. http://www.airpartsinc.com/alumtube.htm Real nice guy there too. A bit more expensive than Texas Towers but very much cheaper than direct from Mosley. I got what I needed.

Dillsburg Aeroplane works phone # is: 717-432-4589
TW Metals is another source of materials. They are an industrial supplier and as I recall they have a $300 minimum order. The folks I delt with at TW were helpful but you'll need to know exactly what you want (size and grade of material) in order to get the best service. Their web site is www.tubingsales.com

I was in need of Aluminum mast pipe and looked in the phone book under Aluminum ! I found a supplier who was local and carried the same grade and wall thickness. Downside was was I had to buy a 24ft piece, but they cut it to the length I wanted for no extra charge and the price was cheaper than the antenna guys wanted for a much shorter piece and I didn't have pay freight. Don't know if they have all wall thicknesses or not but it's worth a check-out.

If you check out the "Joseph Fazzio Inc" of Glassboro NJ (Camden County) you'll find all sorts of tubing and pipe products (in all metals) and odd hardware at more than reasonable prices. I don't know if they ship or not though. However, you've got to visit this place as it's an adventure you don't want to miss. A lot of ham antennas and towers have come out of their yard for amateurs in this area.
Their address is:
Joseph Fazzio Inc.
2760 Glassboro-Cross Keys Road
Glassboro NJ
Their phone number is:
(856) 881-3185
Their web site is:

Check it out as it shows an aerial view of this great 23 acre place.

There is now a chain of "Metal Super Markets" in parts of the country that sell aluminum tubing in many sizes and it is priced and cut by the inch. Example, a 10ft section of 2" OD x 1/2 wall runs about $62.00. They have a store locator, etc, at http://www.metalsupermarkets.com/fra_5.htm
