2 Element Yagi (5 Bands) / Portable for $100 Reply
by NN2X on October 17, 2005 Mail this to a friend!
I am in Kuwait and in need of a portable antenna, and I have a desire to have a Yagi, 2 element, I found an antenna manufacturer called Sand Piper(www.sandpiperaerials.co.uk/).

The portable antenna only weighs about 5 LBS, and can work on 5 bands, Telescopic, 10, 12, 15, Mono, but on 17 and 20 meters you have to add a coil, the antenna has gain of 3dbd on 20 Meters, 3.5dbd on 17, and 15 through 10 had almost 4db.

You have to change the antenna manually for each band, but for about $100, 5 band Yagi, weighing 5 Lbs, it is not bad.

The antenna collapses to 3.5 Ft, to a MAX of Abt 8Ft when using 20 Meters.

I have to ask, does anyone own this 2 Element Yagi Antenna, it is a new product from Sand Piper Aerials.
