FT100D RF spike at PTT wipes out transveter Reply

The FT100D is used for an IF at 144 MHz. The transverter can
only handle 3W max. The FT100D is set to 2W, but at PTT there is a spike of much higher
power (80W or so.) this can be taken care of with the sequencer,
but some WSJT and other program functions
trigger this spike which burns up the receive input
to the DB6NT IF. Has anyone found a cure for the FT100D spike problem? Maybe some
kind of diode attenuator or switch.

Not familuar with your radio but my KW has menu set delay keying.
Sequencing is needed in some manner.
DEMI may have some advice if you call them about it.
I know what it's like to lose TV and wait for it to be repaired.
Good luck.
