I am looking for a good UHF mobile radio. It appears they are not as common as VHF mobiles. I see Alinco sells one, does anyone else sell them?

There is not much call for a UHF only radio nowadays. Most everyone wants to operate two meters also, So the popularity of "dual band" VHF/UHF radios.

My present favorite is the Yaesu FT 8800, Which is actually TWO radios in one box, Capable of VHF/VHF, VHF/UHF, UHF/UHF, etc at the same time, Plus it can "cross band" repeat. A really neat function to be able to use a flea power hand held to talk out through a much more powerful mobil with it's better antenna.

There are cheaper dual band radios, Like the Yaesu FT 7800 that work fine, But they are only ONE radio in the box, And cannot operate both bands at the same time.

I use an Icom F221s Commercial mobile.

It is only 8 channel (there are only 4 good 440 repeaters around here), but 45watts, and free XP programming software, and cheaper than the alinco.
