I have been looking around at some of the HT's on the market. Am considering purchasing the Yaesu FT 250r. Any one who owns one of these, give me your opinion about this HT. Programming, durability, strengths or weaknesses, etc.

I've had one for a short time. I like it just fine so far except the display is a bit small and the keyboard buttons are even smaller. I did not like programming it so I bought the EXPENSIVE software from Universal Radio($40) and loaded up the memories with ease. Battery life appears to be very good. It is a heavy little sucker which I like. Audio is very loud outside. It's already become my favorite 2mtr HT.
