NAYN looking for Check-ins and Relay Stations... Reply
by KD5OWO on July 16, 2004 Mail this to a friend!
Hello again, we did hold our first net on July 9th, we did not hear any check-in's to the net. I was 15 minutes late on holding the net, and so I will assure you that if you don't hear the net at 2300UTC you will hear it somewhere between 2300UTC and 2330UTC, if you do not hear me come on my 2330UTC assume that the net has been canceled that evening due to me not being around. Intill I can find a back-up NC or two to help out that will be the way it is.

I will add that to the list of what I am looking for..

A) I personally want to hear a handful of check-in's, everyone is invited to check-in for the count, all youth with general privagles should get on 14.329 (or close depending on QRM) at 2300UTC Friday July16th, Friday July 23rd, and Friday July 30th, all at the same time. I will try to be monitoring 30 minutes prior to the net each Friday night, if the frequency becomes in use before the net, look for us somwhere around 14.329, I will tune up or down intill I am far enough from any other station not to cause them QRM, or to hear QRM from them.

B) I am Looking for Relay stations, stations that will check-in to the net and standbye during the net to offer any relays, I am look for relays all around, and if you do hear someone that I do not roger into the net, please relay it to me. This is my first net to run, and I kind of messed up last friday, and ended up embarrasing myself because I got alittle nervous. I have things prepared this week and I hope to hear a good net.

C) Also if there are any hams that would like to become a Back-Up NC, please join our Yahoo Reflector at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nayn/

I have uploaded the Net Preamble/Script there, please sign up, even if you are just going to check in the net. We will be posting important information there about the net, including net times/dates/changes/and check-in's. If you are interested again in becoming a Back-up NC please sign up to the group and let us know, we can do a schedule, or whatever.

Thanks, and I hope to hear your check-ins on 14.329 at 2300UTC Friday July 16th.
