Does anyone know where I can download an operating manual for a Motorola 2001C service monitor?

Try batlabs.com . The website is all about Motorola. You will have to register but it is free and there is also a forum section full of guys who know Motorola stuff. They even have instructions on programming radios.

I still can't find a manual for my Triton II VHF Marine radio though.

It took me four years to find the service manual for my 2001D last year. Let me dig and see if I can find the fellow's contact info. These manuals are scarcer than hens teeth.

This is the fellow. He's only about 3 miles from me as the crow flies. Heh. He still has a listing on Ebay, with a 100% rating.

If he doesn't have the 2001c oper manual, the D version will probably do fine as the face plates are identical. I can tell you there are differences on the innards between the two. I wasn't able to do an full alignment on mine using the previous 2001c maintenance manual.

Good luck, Bill

The major problem with the 2001 series, is parts availability.

There is one transistor in the main oscillator that's all but nonobtainium. I found one two years ago, but chances are not today. Good luck.
