Hi,
What I have heared is that the Diamond CP6 can handle a power of 200 Watts. Is this meseared at a continous situation ? does it handle 1000 Watts at shorter transmission intervals ? where is the limitation ?
Many thanks in advance!

I doubt it. The coils are rather small compared to other multi band verticals. Personally, I'd stay within the published limit.

A lot of hospital amateur stations in our area use this antenna. Just a good suggestion...bond the base or ground of the antenna to the metal flashing on the roof of the building. I does help the radiation pattern on 75 and probably 40M.
Wouldn't know about QRO operation...hospitals run 100W max.

The antenna will handle 200 watts maximum. The capacitors in the antenna are not rated for more power than that.

Many thanks for the answers!
I just get confused since other verticals handles much more power and thought that the 200 watts limit is only on continous operation...

There are several different ways that an antenna can be
limited in the power it can handle. If the limitation is
the size of the conductors in the traps (or in the antenna
itself), this is a function of heat that can be dissipated
without damaging the component. Usually in this case you
can run higher power if you keep the transmissions short.
However, another possible limitation is the maximum
voltage before parts arc over. It sounds like this is
what limits the power level on this antenna - if you go
over 200 watts, the capacitors will break down. Lowering
the duty cycle won't help.
