Contacting ArmyMARS HQ Reply
by KG6ZWD on September 23, 2008 Mail this to a friend!
I have been trying to contact Army MARS HQ at Fort Huachuca for about a week now. Their email bounces back and the 800 number they have listed on their website is disconnected. I have also left several messages for the Cheif Stu Carter at the number given to me by the Public Affairs Office of Army NETCOM but no return calls or emails. Does anyone know what is going on there?

Thanks Dwight. I finally got thru to them after contacting the Arizona State Director and did get a call back from the staff eventually.

Thanks again.

First of all Chief Carter has lots of hats to wear so dont be supprised if it takes a while.. but in reality you should be contacting the State MARS director in the state in which you live. If you try contacting the fort (especially to join) they will only forward your email and application to the State director for his approval.

On the other hand, If you send the app and a copy of your license to the State director he can call the fort and get a callsign for THAT VERY DAY.

Believe me I do it all the time, its simple, fast and makes new members very happy.

Thanks for the reply. I did finally get a hold of the California State Director thru the Arizona State Director. Unfortunately the MARS website does not have a list of the state directors and the California section does not have a website (at least there is no link on the MARS HQ website). Also the email addresses are still incorrect and nothing heard about fixing them.

Anyway, my application went in and I'm on my way.

Thanks again.
