'A while ago', whilst stationed in DU-Land and then having no Recip licensing with the P.I., I held a MARS ticket. Used to have a good time on 15.807 with a few guys in The Frozen Chosen, HL-Land. One really nice guy was AB4CF... 'Able Baker Four Chicken Feathers'. I held a 'AI4' call, issued from Clark AFB.
Wondering if there is any kind of Call Book for MARS?
[Yes, MARS was the ONLY 'Ham' comm's out of the Land of Ice and Fire, circa 1975/77, due to hassle with the Radio Club of Iceland's license issuing routine]

There is no call book as such. There is a MARS roster for each of the services, but access is restricted to MARS-members only.

That call sign format does not conform to the (I am assuming Army MARS) current format, so finding that person would be pretty much impossible from that.

That's OK... We had fun in a way that couldn't have happened...without MARS. Can't say we passed any traffic, but a few of us got to 'ham' under conditions not good for us!
Thanks for the time and trouble...

I can only imagine ... <gg>
No trouble. Sorry I can't match up call signs for you.

Could AB4CF be Albert W5TCA of Lubbock, TX ?
AB4CF is referenced on a web page discussing the history of the US Military Academy Amateur Radio Club at http://www.eecs.usma.edu/webs/clubs/hams/history.shtml?1946

I went to Iceland as a Naval Reservist in the 70's. Operated the Mars station and sent traffic home to NAV. Met the operators when I got home. A great experience. Later the station was shut down by their government.
