Hello All TRI-SERVICE MARS Members:

At the direction of the Chief Navy-Marine Corp MARS, the lead for ALE within TRI-SERVICE MARS, MARS-ALE v2.00 has been released. MARS-ALE v2.00 has no expiration date based on testing of the previous beta releases and feedback from over 400 TRI-SERVICE MARS members who have participated in the beta program.

A full install of IMARS-ALE v2.00 has been posted for direct access to both:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MARS-ALE/

and

http://www.n2ckh.com/MARS_ALE_FORUM/

MARS-ALE v2.00 is an MS-Windows MFC based application which utilizes the PC Sound Device as the ALE modem and is designed to natively run under MS-Windows where Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional operating systems. In conjunction with an HF SSB transceiver which provides for CAT control, MARS-ALE providee for a complete ALE modem/controller. MARS-ALE provices all ALE standard BRD and ARQ protocols and supports external TNC/Modem hardware and 3rd Party Sound Device communications programs for all follow-on digtial communications.

Installation and configuration of MARS-ALE is simple, especially when using the distribution .QRG file which can only be downloaded from the MARS-ALE Yahoo forum. The .QRG file provides all the channels for the current MARS and SHARES ALE networks, when not using the .QRG file all channel data must be manually entered.

Sincerely,

/s/ Steve Hajducek, N2CKH/NNN0WWL

Hi Lon,

Not as a native code development, but from the commercials I see on T.V., Apple claims to run Windows applications better than Windows, but I know nothing about Apple OS stuff.

Yea, I can run Windows stuff on my Macs but I hate to pollute the machines like that. :)

Thanks for the information.
