I need the shortest tri band mobile antenna I can find because my garage is low and my truck is high. About 8 inches of clearence.

Or a very flexible (maybe spring loaded base) tri bander.

Help

Or another option would be to bumper mount or bed mount an antenna. How well would a vhf/uhf antenna perform with such a mount?

Also, how would you normally run the coax from the bed to inside the cab?

Thanks

Mike

If your truck has stake pockets, there are several makers of mounts which utilize these holes and work well. Typically that are NMO style. If all else fails, you can use the cowl.

You'll find pass-through grommets all over most pickups, even the bed. If not, and you use a stake pocket mount or similar arrangement, a grommetted hole up under the bed lip is a good place as it is hard to see and out of the way of items in the bed.

If I remember correctly, NCG Comet had a small motorized roof mount that would lay your antenna(s) flat on your vehicles roof for easy access into parking structures. I couldn't find any antenna mount info on their website but a phone call to them could clear things up.
