Good friend especially when needed, great support to me recently when my Father was very ill and when my Mother died shortly afterwards. Will be missed by his friends in ham radio circles especially Paraig and James and of course by his family. May he rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of a very good friend EI8IY.I think of the many laughs and good times that myself and Padric EI7IR and Nelius EI8IY had on the airways into the small hours, and always game for a joke and a helping lift when things might be low, because I had them and the big man was always there, and even travelled to see me,nothing was a problem,
I will always remember the great day we had when we went to a rally together such a laugh I had pains for a week!
A great friend a great support and a great character, now rests in heaven,
Sadly missed, Peter.

Nelius was a very regular caller to our house in Eyrecourt,Co Galway.
As you can see from the picture the kids adored him.
My best friend, he was always there to help in any way he could.
Sadly missed and will never be forgotten.
May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of knowing Neilus;we studied for the B license together in 1997 and both succeeded in obtaining it.He was a fine radio operator, but more importantly he was a true gentleman.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
