ANDRE SHEKYA (VA4MM/VE4RM/VE4UO)

OCTOBER 25, 2002

ANDRE PASSED AWAY AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 42. HE WAS LICENSED IN HIS TEENS WHEN THE EXAMS IN CANADA WERE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS. PRETTY GOOD. HE LIKED CONTESTING, HOCKEY, AND JUST HAVING A GOOD TIME. HE WAS A RADIO TECH. AND WAS A LIKEABLE GUY. A GREAT LOSS TO THE HAM COMMUNITY IN WINNIPEG, MANITOBA.

I spelled his last name incorrect. It is SHEYKA.

Thanks Michael - it's been one year & I miss him so much! Found this website by chance tonight (and found your kind words about my brother - thank you)! He loved his Ham Radio (drove my Mom & I CRAZY) ...... what I wouldn't give to have his morse code interfere with the t.v. signal tonight! Please don't ever forget about Andre - he was genuine & one of a kind! ter (Victor Echo 4 Uncle Oscar)
