Doug Wells (W4TJU)

Right after I got my license in 1951, I met W4TJU on the air. He used to travel the state of Florida maintaining mobile radios for the state. Even with a degree in electrical engineering, that was about the only job he could find in electronics and not move out of state. He stopped by my shack frequently (it was on a major highway) and helped this beginning ham with things like a VFO and a modulator. He was a great friend, very much missed.
