Joe Bau (KJ6UK)

December 13, 2002

Great friend and great operator. He will be sorely missed by all on 7.153.

I started listening to Joe and Al(W3KRQ)and the rest of the gang on the low end of 40m before I was licensed. I was quickly addicted. These guys were real hams! I was compelled to get my ticket so I could talk to these guys, which I did on occasion. but mostly I was content to just listen, and learn. I would call Joe by phone when the bands wouldn't work between us and he always had ideas and advice for things I was working on. Joe was a great elmer and a great friend. I credit him for introducing me to this hobby, and my appreciation for it. W9SIX
