Bill was a mentor and a a friend to Ham Radio. I remember Bill having an Renault Dauphine (french car)many years ago, He took pride in using a three phase alternator to power his KW Linear power amp on 75 meters. The antenna was a Texas Bug Catcher with a 102 inch whip. What a whopping signal on 75!
I will miss his friendship and ham radio will miss Bill.
73's Bill.
God Bless you.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bill for many years while living in Friendswood Tx. Bill and I were on several committees for repeaters in the Houston area. I remember Bill running a kilowatt mobile in his Renault Dauphine. Man what a great Texas Bug Catcher antenna he had! He had built a three phase power supply and powered it with a three phase alternator. Bills contribution to Ham Radio will live on for many years. I remember his ham shack in the room he built in his garage and his Collins Radio gear which he was really proud of. 73's Bill and thanks for sharing your knowledge with me!
