Vern Dutton (VE4VQ)

November, 2003

Vern was a University of Manitoba Engineering Professor and retired in 1982. I met him in 1983 at the U of M Ham Club while I was in Electrical Engineering. He was involved with the Manitoba Ham Community for years and was also a Scout Leader. He helped me teach Ham Radio Licensing Classes at the University in 1986 and 1987. During his retirement he visited local schools and taught the kids about radio and electronics. He was 82 years old and will be missed by the Ham Community. I would say he had a very fullfilling life.
