Dawn Cummings (K1TQY)

Dawn was first licensed as a tech and struggled many years later to upgrade to general. She was successful. She was president of WRONE, the Women Radio Operators of New England. She was heavily involved in handling traffic and the NTS. She was the administrator and trustee of the local 2 meter repeater in Keene, NH. She also compiled weather data for the National Weather Service. She is survived by her mother, Vivian and father, Lem, K1IOJ.

Dawn's untimely passing at the age of 44 was a shock to all of us here in the New England area. She was active on the New England Weather Net and as a Weather Bureau Observer. As a traffic handler and net control she was prompt, thorough and efficient. Many others knew her better than I did, but I felt she deserved much recognition as a dedicated hard working handicapped YL operator. She will be missed by her fanily and all who knew her from her QTH in Keene, NH, 73 Dawn and 88
