Clyde "Coffee" Downing (W9HSY)

1989

Clyde, You were the heart and soul of the Madison Area Repeater Association from its inception until you passed away. Always on the air with a friendly voice and a joke. You tirelessly gave of yourself until you had nothing left to give. Thanks for the entertainment! 73, Paul

Clyde, I know you are the president of the repeater club in the sky. Just like you were the greatest president of the Madison Area Repeater Assn here on earth. It was a pleasure to have known and worked with you at the MARA hamfests all those years. Things are different now, but the basic structure is solid that you set in place. On the ole Madison, WI WISIMOMETER, you were the KING. Rest easy old friend, and save a seat in that big resturant where you now hold court!!

Clyde, I always enjoyed your company at O'Malley's and Country Kitchen. Both these restaurants are now a pleasant memory just like you. You always took time to meet a fellow ham for coffee or a bite to eat and were always listening for someone to throw their call out on the repeater. You were the best pres MARA ever had and you were a good friend. Clyde, we all miss you. 73, Gary KA9SRM (ex N9DRA)
