Jim Allen (WB1Z)
April 8, 2004
A strong supporter of amateur radio, as well as the local club, where he served as a board member. Jim was fluent in CW, and was an excellant operator on SSB as well. You could count on hearing him talking with the "regulars" on ten meters at night, or working the biggest pileup on the band. He was one of the driving forces behind the Hampden County Radio Association's yearly field day, and certainly one of the greatest reasons for its growth over the years. He was the kind of operator that everyone hopes will reply to their CQ. Today, it is with great sorrow that I - and the rest of the amateur radio community - say 73' to Jim, WB1Z.
