Al Peura (K9CCL)
May 15, 2004
ALLAN J. PEURA
Allan J. Peura, 64, formerly of DeKalb, Ill., died May 15, 2004 of a heart attack, in Bullhead City, Ariz.
He was born April 25, 1940, in Teuva, Finland. He came to DeKalb at the age of 10.
He married Pauline Price on Jan. 4, 1963. Al worked many years at Wurlitzer as an electronics technician in the piano division.
Al moved to Kingston, Wis., in June 1992 to purchase Al's Mill Pond Saloon. He loved the area and the people.
Al had been an amateur radio operator for 48 years, operating under the call of K9CCL.
He had a love for his radios, but also for playing pool. There wasn't a pool hall he hadn't met or any challenge that went unaccepted over the years.
Al is survived by his daughter, Paula (Mike) Dahl, and three granddaughters, Chezare and Breana Carlson and Denae Dahl, all of Markesan, Wis.
A memorial was held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Sycamore Park off Airport Road in Sycamore.
