Christopher Haist (WB6RXE)
August 1999
A good friend and ham radio buddy for 35 years. His passing will
not dim his memory. He leaves behind Three children, an ex-wife and
good friends who will always smile when they think of him.
73's Chris old Friend.

I had known Chris since 1965, when he was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver. He used to come over to my garage, about a block from his barracks, and operate my station with me. I was still in high school at the time. He and I have talked too briefly at times over the years, and this is the first I have heard of his passing. On Saturday mornings, in between DX chasing, one of us would make a run to the then-new McDonald's, and, for about $2.50, bring back a couple of Cokes and a bagful of cheeseburgers and fries. The best of times.
