Rush Drake (W7RM)

March 11, 2005

Rush was in my type of electronics business for many years so we had more in common than just the love of contesting and DXing. He invited me a number of times to be among the "RM contest crew" but I never had the time. I should have made the time. We never met in person but Rush would always stop in the busiest contest to ask how I was, "how's business" and wish me well. A true gentleman from the "old school" of DX and contesting. Rest in peace, Rush. Gary, W0TM

Never met Rush but worked him many times. W7RM is a legendary call. I remember back in the early 70's hear him describe "foul weather bluff" and all his antennas. RIP Rush.
