Lyle was a good Amateur Radio operator. He was always on the WV Fone Net and always talked to the gang on 3830. He will be sadly missed by everyone who new him.

I just stumbles across this site to try and find old HAM friends only to discover that Lyle had passed. We had talked every night after night, after night, after night on 3830 when I was living back in Ontario years ago. I got to know Lyle as a great friend and actually travelled doen to West Virginia many years ago to visit with him, Roger and the rest of the WV boys. I will truly miss him. Thank you, Steve Lewis VA3SL(VE3HAE)/VE7

Lyle gave me my novice test in 1961 when he was W8EUE in Spencer, WV. He was a good mentor for me and a bunch of other folks back in West Virginia. He started the WV mid-day net back in the 1970s. I am sad that I can't go back and check in with him on 75 meters again. Dave W8IJ
