Reg Linscott (W1LIC)
September 26, 1996
Reg Linscott was my dad. When he died in 1996 he had been licensed as
W1LIC for 58 years. We enjoyed many chats on the radio over the years.
Dad was an old CW man and used a Vibroplex bug right up to the end. He
tried an electronic keyer once and realized it was not for him. He had a very
distinctive fist on the bug. He was a great example to me that one can enjoy
amateur radio with a very modest station. He was always a gentleman and
courteous to everyone on the air. I am extremely proud to have his call and
to keep it on the air for a few more years.
