George Defibaugh (K5VRW)

Feburary 1, 2000

Navy POW during WW2. Was active in the Navy-Marine Corps MARS.

Contributed by: Gordon Defibaugh (N5AJF)

Sorry to hear of George's passing. I met George about 1976 through the MARS program. He met all the nets while us out here trying to make a buck could not, and then he would bring much of it to the evening net. Hard worker, aways there and helped where ever he could. I moved to East Tx in 1989 and lost track of George and his wonderful wife and often thought of them. Wish I would have called him before his passing. I take comfort knowing that George now can see everything clearly in Heaven. You see, George lost his eyesight while a POW in WW2 while working slave labor in the Japanese coal mines. God Bless George Defibaugh
