Mike Barbarick (KL7IXT)
December 10, 2005
I received an email that Mike passed away suddenly Saturday from complications of lung cancer. What surprising and sad news that is. I have lost a friend and a fellow officer. He showed much promise of recovery and I never received any word that he would do otherwise. A fellow ham for many years, we shared a lot of other common interests as well. We both flew airplanes and loved that. We spent a lot of time patroling together in southwest Anchorage area 13 while I was employed there and many off duty hours doing ham radio stuff as well. I had secret hopes that one day I would return and visit with Mike again. My heartfelt sympathies go out to those who knew Mike better than I and to his wife, Deanna. I feel the loss dearly. I am going to miss Mike greatly.
