Wilf Barby (VE7QO)

January 4, 2006

Wilf was a long time ham (almost 70 years!) and began as VE4AJA until he moved to Vancouver in 1947. He was admired for his CW abilities and zeal for amateur radio. One of the founding members of the BCDX Club and the Gizeh communications team, he will be sadly missed by many.

I met Wilf personally in Hawaii back in 1985-1986. I was very impressed what a great guy he was. And when I bumped into him on the air or in a contest, he still remembered my name. Sorry to see you go, OM --- we'll miss ya!! Best 73.....
