Joseph S. Cipko (WA2ZFH)

February 10,2006

Joe was licensed for over 40 years and he enjoyed all aspects of the hobby from Dxing, to contesting, to rag chewing, to getting on to local repeaters. He did it all .Joe was also a long time member of the Two Boro Radio Club and a supporter of many repeater systems. Joe was also an avid VHF/UHF contester and in many of the contests he was the only entrant from the NYC/LI area. Joe never stopped learning about the hobby, his home was filled with reference books, study guides, how to- do books and every self training course he could get his hands on. The walls in his shack are covered with the various contest awards he has won .Joe was a real ham that built his own equipment and repaired it himself when it wasn’t working. He will be missed by all that had the good fortune to meet him in person or on the air.
