Dave Rogers (K5DKR)

November 8, 2004

Dave, K5DKR was not actually from 5 land, his vanity call tied into his love of 5's, as he was born on May 5, 1955. Unfortunately, he didn't make the next alignment, where he would have been 50 on 5-5-05. Starting as a child with the usual squelch-less walkie talkies, his interest in radio was lifelong. Graduating into VHF monitoring and CB, he eventually reached the Ivory Tower of hamdom a few years ago. He was beginning to get involved with DXing, local ham clubs, and the whole universe of ham radio. He was a uniter of people, connecting them through commonalities of life - which he always enjoyed looking through nostalgically. He tragically left this world in November of 2004, but with a legacy of friends, both old and new, as well as a son who reminds us a lot of Dave. He continues to be missed greatly.
