I was marks elmer, high school friend,I licensed him in 1978,he rose to the level of technician,never upgraded.I also licensed his girlfriend amy at the time also.Marks main interest in radio was the broadcasting, he loved broadcast stations,especially ones he could do volunteer work at. we enjoyed two meters and especially simplex work.actually he started me first in cb, and then i started him into amateur radio...we had a lot in common.
