BESSMER, Roger Roger Bessmer, 77, of Seabrook Island, died Thursday, January 4, 2007. Mr. Bessmer is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years, Sally, family, and many good friends. Mr. Bessmer was born in Independence, Missouri. Predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Helen Bessmer. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri. He was a member and teacher of the Signal Corp at Fort Mammoth, New Jersey. He retired from Cleaves, Bessmer, Marietta as an Electical Engineer. Roger was an active member of the Arrarat Shrine in Independence and an avid Radio Club member. He was involved in numerous business ventures throughout his career and continued to pursue business and volunteer activities in retirement. He was a member of The Silver-Haired Legislature. Roger was a passionate man. He loved entertaining friends, cooking and conversing, and debating current issues. He was a Ham Radio enthusiast and involved in CERT training locally.
