Enrique, LU3EHT, was an enthusiastic ham operator and an active supporter of the Greater New Orleans Amateur Radio Club. During his service as Argentine Consul General he frequently used the GNOARC club station, W5UK, to keep in contact with friends in Argentina.
Following a massive earthquake which struck Mexico City in the mid-1980s, LU3EHT relayed a plea from the Mexican Consul General for W5UK to assist with disaster communications. Acting as both a ham operator and a diplomat, Enrique helped to facilitate relief efforts.
New Orleans area hams who knew Enrique remember LU3EHT as a gentle, kind, and enthusiastic man who took great pleasure from his ham radio activities. He will be greatly missed.
