Mark Mueller (AB8ZI)

Dec 26, 2007

Mark was active member ARROW. (w8pgw.org) This year at field day Mark set up his equipment and maintained the GOTA station. We will miss him greatly. Mark is in the picture standing with clipboard inside the tent used for the GOTA station.

Mark was a wonderful guy, and was always a pleasure for me to work with on ARROW club projects like Field Day, where he not only pitched in with relish but surpassed my expectations routinely, making beautiful signs and operator's reference cards for all the stations, among other things. He will be deeply missed, and his tragic death due to a fall is a reminder to us all to pay close attention to safety in our homes, places of work, and everywhere. I'd like to think Mark will still be with us in our future field day outings, or at least watching over us and influencing propagation in our favor. Rest easily, Mark. - Tim, KT8K, ARROW Field Day Organizer and W8PGW Trustee

Hi, My name is Michelle Roderick, kd8gwx. A call was sent out notifying you that my boyfriend and fellow amateur radio operator, Mark Mueller, ab8zi, had fallen and was in the Intensive Care Unit. A request was posted for you to send a QSL card wishing Mark well and for him to read as he recovered. We received your card and although I was able to share it with Mark while he was in a coma, he became a Silent Key on 12/26/07 at 5:04 pm. I canít tell you how much your kindness, well wishes and thoughtfulness meant not only to me, but to Markís family as well. Thank you so much for pulling together with us as we hoped and prayed for a different outcome for Mark. I know he appreciated it. Your card has been placed in a special binder for safekeeping with the rest of the things that were so important to Mark. We will be able to keep these in a place where the family can treasure these for decades to come. Thank you again and bless you. Michelle kd8gwx posted by k8elr for kd8gwx
