John Fisher (K2JF)

It is with deep sorrow that we note the passing of our dear friend John Fisher. John passed away on December 11, 2007. He will be sorely missed by those who called him husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor. May you rest in peace, John.
John was first licensed in 1938. His first call was W3IFT, Class "B", then he upgraded to Class A in Nov 1939. His second call was W2QZF (changed by FCC due to additon of Zero call area). John took the Extra class license exam in 1976 and changed his call to K2JF, which was formerly held by his father.
He was a life member of the following organizations: ARRL, HIDXA, INDEXA, NCDXF, QCWA, OOTC, Gloucester County ARC, Frankford Radio Club.
AWARDS: A-1 Operator Club, ARRL DXCC Honor Roll, 7BDXCC, 5BWAS, 5BWAZ, W.A.S 6 Meters #661, Catch 22, Marco Polo, VUCC #1088, ARRL DXCC Millennium Award
John served as an ARRL DXCC Field Representative and ARRL Technical Specialist (RFI/TVI) in the SNJ section.
John retired as an Engineer (Physicist) for RCA in 1983.
After his retirement, John became a Professor of Physics at Camden County College for 13 yrs. He retired again in 1997.
John was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Gladys.
John is survived by his sons Ted and Ralph, his granddaughters Kitty and Elise, and his companion Marie.

WOW...Such a shame that Ham Radio losses one great guy in JOHN. I just became a general in September of 07 and john sat on the board reviewing all our answer sheets. He was a super nice guy and truly a great great ham ......73's JOHN YOU'LL BE MISSED.
