Edward Brichta (W8DFE)
Ed was the guy who got me started in ham radio. I remember seeing a complete set (Mohawk, Apache etc) Heatkit rigs in his basement and when he showed me how easy it was to talk to people on the other side of the world, I knew I wanted to be a ham. He gave me my Novice exam and got me started in this great hobby. Thanks Ed - I never forgot you-his sons Bob and Jim are also in the hobby-a great tribute to a truly great Elmer!
